Skilled Trades refers to professions that require specialized knowledge and hands on work. Training for a skilled trade includes on the job work as an Apprentice and in class learning at a technical school. Yukon recognizes and designates 48 trades within the territory.

An Apprenticeship is a pathway to a career in a skilled trade. An apprenticeship consists of on the job training from a trained professional - while getting paid - and learning at a technical school.

  • If you're a teacher, email us to book programs or presentations about Trades & Technology and apprenticeships.
  • Tradespeople and individuals with experience in Trades and Technology can start a Skills Club, funded by Skills Yukon and facilitated by you!
  • Do you work with another organization that caters to youth in the Yukon? Email us so we can discuss if there are opportunities to partner on programming.
